Kailash pilgrimage

The Kailash pilgrimage is one of the most sacred spiritual journeys in Asia, centered around the revered peak of Mount Kailash in western Tibet. Considered holy by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and followers of the Bon religion, the mountain is believed to be the divine residence of Lord Shiva and a powerful spiritual center of the universe. Pilgrims undertake the challenging kora, a 52-kilometer circumambulation around the mountain, passing through dramatic high-altitude landscapes and crossing the sacred Dolma La Pass at over 5,600 meters. Many pilgrims also visit the nearby holy waters of Lake Manasarovar, where ritual bathing and prayers are believed to cleanse past sins and bring spiritual merit.
